CDC Advising Pregnant Women Not to Travel

The Zika Virus has now spread to over 24 counties, leading The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to advise all pregnant woman to restrain from travel.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, says “It isn’t as if it’s turning around and dying out, it’s getting worse and worse as the days go by.”

The Zika Virus is spread by the Aedes aegypti mosquito and causes microcephaly in newborns, which is seen with abnormally small heads and abnormal brain development.
