T.I. is currently promoting his new album Us Or Else: Letter to the System north of the border, but encountered some trouble Monday night (Jan. 30) when one of his bodyguards was stabbed in the leg during a club show in Moncton, New Brunswick. TMZ is reporting the incident, law enforcement telling the site that one of Tip’s security guards suffered at least three knife wounds to the calf.
Police were reportedly called to the scene at The Venue around 1:20 a.m. The bodyguard had sustained the injury while watching over a table of T.I. merchandise. The 23-year-old man was taken to a local hospital and released the same evening. Police spoke to T.I. as well, the rapper reportedly forgoing a final show tonight in Halifax tonight.
T.I. has yet to comment on the incident via social media but below is a video posted about a week back from a Winnipeg. T.I.’s new album continues his turn of injecting political and social activism into his music, the rapper telling Jimmy Kimmel, “It’s protesting against police brutality, and it’s in memory of all the young men and women who have lost their lives at the hands of law enforcement unnecessarily out there in the community, with no accountability whatsoever. I just really want to see the nation head into a better direction.”
