Cain Velasquez Retires from UFC, Joins WWE
Just hours after announcing his “retirement” from the UFC, mixed martial arts fighter Cain Velasquez has reportedly signed a lucrative deal with WWE. ESPN reports Velasquez, who made his wrestling debut on Fox’s “SmackDown” last week, has agreed to a “multiyear deal” with the sports entertainment giant. The amount of money connected to the agreement has not been disclosed. The abrupt career change comes less than a week after MMAjunkie reported Velasquez had refused to continue submitting to drug tests, which the UFC requires before fighters are allowed to step into the octagon.
